How can you profess the dynamics of operating a jet dragracing vehicle, or any other jet vehicle for that matter if you have never actually driven one?

Aside from the fact a lot of jet dragsters AREN'T built by their drivers, I've been observing jet and rocket cars for thirty years.

For example, March 18, 1973 I saw the original "Pollution Packer" rocket dragster driven by Dave Anderson become the first car to clock 300 mph at an NHRA national event (the Gatornationals). Later that year, Anderson clocked 344 mph with the car at the Indy nationals (still to this day the fastest speed ever run at an NHRA national event).

All of the rocket system in the Pollution Packer was behind the cockpit. The only weight forward of the cockpit was the frame and front axle. Yet in 1972, Dave Anderson had still managed to set FIA standing records at Bonneville in the quarter and half kilometer as well as a kilometer record that still stands (despite Vern Anderson's attempt to break it with the second "Pollution Packer").
