Bradenton, Fla. – Clouds hovered over Bradenton as
the three jet car drivers on hand prepared for their two passes on Saturday.
And little sprinkle threatened to ruin everyone’s fun. Lucky for us all it
lasted only a little while and never developed into more than a few drops.
Bradenton’s annual Snowbirds event featured Pepi Urban and
his J-79 Xtreme Machine Freightliner Classic jet semi-truck.
Pepi and crew pack his chutes before the first run.
It’s a long way to the chute can!

Paul Miller and his US 1 jet dragster
and jet racing’s newest female driver Elaine Larsen and her
Miss Ta Fire jet dragster.
Also on hand was Richard Hutchins and his Chevy Rebellion
wheelstander.

Hutchins got the show off to a fiery start. He tore down
the track at 134.4 mph and clocked a time of 9.78.

He was followed by Elaine (l) and Paul (r). Paul took
Elaine with a time of 5.382 running at 293.55 mph. Elaine put up a time of 5.95
at a speed of 266.9.

Pepi threw down another rockin’ fire show as he always does
at Bradenton. He ran a 204 in 7 seconds.
